Service Description

Gain the skills needed to handle swift water rescues with GreenTongue’s Swift Water Rescue L4 course. Designed for river guides and search and rescue teams, this course covers essential skills such as advanced rope work, foot entrapment scenarios, and swift water swimming techniques. With our expert instructors and hands-on training, you’ll be equipped to handle any situation that arises in the water. Enroll now and take your rescue skills to the next level. Level 4 objectives focus on building on skills that are already established. -Ropes: We focus the skills we have already and build on them. Rather than introducing rarely used complicated systems like Highlines we will put new tools in the mix like high tension back ties, Radium Release hitch, compounding systems, tandem belays and back up systems. -Search and Rescue: We will introduce search and rescue basics and practice organizational structures for effective team work. -Scenarios: Real time learning with scenario based experience: -Night Scenario: We will put things together and complete a night scenario. This will challenge all members with increased demands on team organization, communications preplanning etc. -Patient Care: Expect to build on what you already know about first aid and learn more about how to stabilize victims prior to, during and after extrication. -Swimming: Improve your swimming skills in more challenging water and with bigger objectives. -Entrapment: Gain skills through full evolutions of detailed and technical extrication techniques. Prerequisites: All participants require the following. -Valid Swift Water Rescue Level 3 -Strong Swimming Ability: comfort in grade 3 water and in linking maneuvers or objectives. -Solid Understanding of Ropes and Mechanical Advantage: Solid understanding of how to build anchors, set up belays and friction devices, complete a mechanical advantage system without guidance, solid understanding of rope theory. -Current First Responder Certification. -Good Physical Abilities: able to lift heavy objects and carry loads over un even terrain for over 150m.
