Service Description

Paddle Canada Solo Canoe Instructor Course is targeted at instructors looking for the next level. Solo canoe instructors are of the highest skilled paddling instructors due to their complete understanding of the dynamics of a canoe and the paddle itself. They, over time, have been able to complete the connection with the canoe as an extension of their bodies. This course will cover not only how to teach canoeing but also how to apply the key concepts to the candidates own paddling. Focusing on skill development and improvement of fundamentals we will cover the following. - Stroke improvement through body mechanics -Stroke specific to solo canoeing -Paddling on off sides and switching sides as needed -Reverse maneuvers and paddle stroke dynamics -detection and correction for stroke imrovement -2x4 technique and its benefits and limitations -MITH as it applies to solo canoes -Self rescue -Companion rescue -Solo canoeing for tandem instructors -Solo canoeing with a bow paddler Your instructors will bring decades of experience to the course and will intently seek to learn from the group in the collective Equipment is not provided but available for rent as needed.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule please contact us at least 1 week in advance. Cancelations 2 weeks in advance will receive full refund. Cancellations before one week 1 week deadline but after the two week cut off will incur a 20% admin fee. Last minute cancelations and no shows will have full booking fee retained. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances. We reserve to right to cancel for unsafe weather and river conditions with less than 24hrs of notice. Full refund granted for cancelations due to weather or restrictions, BECAUSE WE ARE AWESOME!
