Service Description

Embark on an unforgettable adventure with GreenTongue’s Writing on Stone Explorer tour. Ideal for beginners and families, this tour offers a unique combination of sand stone canyons, hoodoo walls, grasslands, and rolling hills along the picturesque Milk River. With some exciting rapids up to class II, this tour is perfect for those seeking a fun and thrilling experience. Our knowledgeable guides will provide a safe and supportive environment to learn and grow, making this an exceptional opportunity to explore the wonders of nature. Join us today for an adventure of a lifetime! Whats included -Transportation to and from. -Canoes, PFD's Paddles. -Tents, Group shelters, Kitchen supplies -Meals and snacks (except Lunch on day one dinner on last day) -Guiding and instruction. -Guided tour of Writing on Stone Park. Day one, enjoy a easy start to your trip on a slow and meandering prairie river. An easy start you will get to know how to steer your boat before encountering the first set of rapids just before the camp site. Day two will see more consistent class 1&2 low volume rapids. As the river carves deeper into the landscape there are more prominent sandstone walls and canyons. An exciting day as the challenge builds and the landscape becomes increasingly more impressive. The second night camping is done at Poverty Rock. Another comfortable camp site with shelters and outhouses. This site is maintained by Alberta Parks and is a beautiful place to spend the night. Day three starts off with a short hike in search of petroglyphs and then a full days paddle into Writing on Stone National Park. There we will set up camp in another beautiful camping facility again complete with a store, showers and plumbing. Day four take some time to enjoy the park and then meet up with your scheduled interpreted tour highlighting the cultural and natural significance of the area.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule please contact us at least 1 week in advance. Cancelations 2 weeks in advance will receive full refund. Cancellations before one week 1 week deadline but after the two week cut off will incur a 20% admin fee. Last minute cancelations and no shows will have full booking fee retained. Exceptions will be made for special circumstances. We reserve to right to cancel for unsafe weather and river conditions with less than 24hrs of notice. Full refund granted for cancelations due to weather or restrictions, BECAUSE WE ARE AWESOME!
